Doesn't that look awesome!

Now I would like to share with you a couple of layouts that I made using the amazingly versatile spellbinders dies and my cuttlebug.

Sensational Six
My first layout celebrates my little girl's 6th birthday. I wanted to fit as many photos of the day as I could without making the photos too small. I printed out the main photo 4 x 6" and the others at 4 x 3" size.

Materials:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned paper: Fancy-Pants, American Craft, Sassafrass, October Afternoon
Card and stickers: October Afternoon
Stamp: Imaginisce
Letters: American Craft 'Thickers', Kaisercraft 'mini alphas'
Other: Tim Holtz distress ink, stickles, crackle paint, thread, buttons

  • Trim your background paper (I used this gorgeous Fancy Pants paper which matched the bright colours in my photos really well) to 11 x 11" and adhere to white cardstock to make a frame around your LO.
  • Adhere a 3 x 8" rectangle of the white heart paper (American Craft 'Dear Lizzy - Spring' range) to the lft side of the LO and run an 11 x 4"  strip of  Sassafrass (Sweet Marmelaide) along the bottom edge.
  • Adhere photos as shown, overlapping them and slipping one of the photo edges behind the lower paper strip to add dimension.
  • Make a journaling card using the Spellbinders nesting labels dies to cut a label from cream paper. Stamp on the journaling lines using the 'Imaginisce' Snag-em mini stamp (available from Scotty Craft). Adhere to layout overlapping the left upper photo as shown.
  • Make a rosette from paper scraps (see instructions below) and adhere to LO with a decorative card as shown.
  • Paint your title letters with Tim Holtz crackle paint. Allow to dry then cover with clear stickles (both available from Scotty)
  • Adhere title over a strip of yellow paper and add words to photos using the kaisercraft mini-letters.
  • Add buttons, paper scraps and date sticker to complete the layout,
Paper Rosettes - instructions

Using the Spellbinders nesting circle and scallopped circle dies with your cuttlebug to cut out a selection of different sized circles and scallopped circles from paper scraps that co-ordinate with your project. Ink the circle edges and distress if desired. Layer and adhere the circles together from largest to smallest alternating a plain circle with a scallopped one. You can add as many layers as you like to your rosette. For my smallest central circle I added a mini paper rosette that I cut using the Tim Holtz rosette die (also available at Scotty Craft) Complete the rosette by adding a decorative element to the middle. I used a button on my layout above but you could also use a brad, rhinestones, adhesive badge, flower - the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
The Spellbinders dies work well with material too so you could make a similar rosette from material scraps or felt.

Father's Day

My second page showcases photos of my daughters with my husband on Father's day.

I used the Spellbinders nesting circle  and the new cuttlebug 'woodgrain' embossing folder to make my tree. I drew and handcut the trunk from brown cardstock and I used the woodgrain embossing folder and my cuttlebug to emboss the trunk. I used the Spellbinders nesting circle dies to cut a selection of different sized circles from scraps of brown and green patterned paper. I arranged the circles overlapping to make the top of the tree. A scattering of buttons and a cute wee owl finished off the look.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. Hope that you enjoyed my projects

Oh, and for today only at SCOTTY CRAFT there will be 25% off all SPELLBINDERS/CUTTLEBUG products.
