The Fun of the Fair

The challenge this month at Purple Pumpkin is based on this cool sketch by the amazing, awesome Chantal Vandenberg.

I was so inspired by her bright, happy, example page and I dug out these old papers from Imaginisce to pair with this fun photo of my kids (and Jaime's lovely girlfriend) at the recent school fair. For once I kept pretty close to the sketch adding lots of Purple Pumpkin goodies! I was inspired by Chantals LO to try dry brushing a black frame around my papers (her orange paint looks so amazing). I have used this tecnique before but only with white gesso. I think that colour really makes the photo 'pop' and adds another layer of definition to the distressed paper background.
