Its Ducky Weather

This page was so much fun to do! It is for the current challenge at 'Scrap the Boys'. Here is the challenge:

You need to use a photo of your boy(s) getting dirty, this could be anything from mud, paint, dirt, cooking, eating and so on...I also want your photo to inspire your layout is some way.

I thought of these photos of Benji playing in the mud at our local park right away. I set about 'grunging' up my background cardstock to resemble mud. I used spray ink, masks and of course my new Tim Holtz texture stamps. I brushed bronze 'perfect pearls' powder onto my stamped images to give the effect of 'wet puddles'.
I picked out a Kaisercraft chipboard branch to frame my photo block, but it looked too heavy and made my page seem top-heavy. I decided instead to use it as a mask and spray over it with green ink. I think theis worked well as it gave the look that I wanted without the visual weight.
My papers are from the Simple Stories 'Awesome ' collection. Their earthy colours matched my photos perfectly. I added a little corrugated cardboard to grunge it up a little. I typed my journaling and cut it into strips because I wanted to say quite a lot (don't I always!!) and it takes up less room that way. Oh, and check out those cool mini-letters on my chippie tag. They are new in at Scottie Crafts and are by 'Lilly-Bee designs. They come in a range of colours and designs (including polka-dot) and are totally awesome!

This is gorgeous Sarah! I am in love with your background. And a boy not wanting to get dirty? Lucky you, it is normally the opposite lol
