It was my turn to update the Purple Pumpkin blog today and I wanted to share this page with you. My little Sophie turned 8 this weekend and amongst the heap of photos that I took of her special day were these three shots that my husband took of Sophie having a birthday cuddle with me (I especially love the one where she is kissing me - so cute!)
I masked and sprayed my background and added the inked flowers by punching flower shapes out of a sheet of plain paper then using the negative shape as a stencil and simply rubbing my ink pad over the top. My papers are from MME and October Afternoon.
Now for the Purple Pumpkin goodness. Check out the green doily that forms the base for my big flower element and ofcourse those gorgeous butterfly buttons that really do add the perfect finishing touch to my page.

I used the current criteria at CSI for this page:

Isn't it a beautiful, fresh colour scheme? From the 'evidence' list I used black and white patterned paper and a patterned brad. I journaled about an event that may seem ordinary but was very special to me :) After all it is not every day that you get to cuddle with a beautiful little daughter on her 8th birthday!
Hope you are having a great day wherecver you are !
