Christmas Clowns

Well it's over for another year! I hope that you all  had a fantastic Xmas and got to spend lots of precious time with your loved ones.
Here is a layout that I managed to put together today for the current 'Sketchabilities' sketch.

Isnt this a cool sketch! I have had it on my 'to do' list since it was first revealed and I have just finished it in time by the skin of my teeth. I picked out these three photos of my older kids on Xmas eve and Xmas morning because I think that they really show the fun that we have together.
I replaced the three Xmas tree elements with tags of various sizes that I cut from patterned paper. Most of my paper is from October Afternoon's last years Xmas collection - Holiday Style (which i love). Since this page is also destinied for the Purple pumpkin blog I added plenty of PP goodness.
The bakers twine heart is really easy yo make and very effective. I punched out a heart shape from cardstock, covered the surface with dimensional magic, then wound the PP bakers twine around the perimeter of the heart gradually moving inwards until it was entirely covered. Here is a close up of the finished embellishment. You can use this tecnique with any simple shape.

The snowflake flare button is also from PP.
The final touch was the clown themed fabric button to which I anchored my journaling tag. It is just perfect for this page - and so cute!

 Have a great weekend!

First off I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question that
I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I've had a difficult
time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin.

Any recommendations or hints? Cheers!
