The challenge at 'Scrap the Girls' this month is a sketch challenge. I love sketches and couldn't resist giving this one a try. Here is my page. I took the photo at the Auckland Chinese New Year Lantern Festival on Saturday. There is something quite magical about a little girl skipping along with her precious balloon firmly grasped in her hand. Sophie loves balloons and she was thrilled when I bought her this huge blue dolphin (her favourite animal). I kept the page fairly simple to allow the photo to take centre stage. My background paper is Basic Grey 'Serenade' (I love that collection) and my other papers are all Teresa Collins.
Now take a closer look at that gorgeous chippie title.
I got my DT pack from 2Crafty Chipboard today and I just couldn't wait to try out the yummy goodies (Thanks Vanessa :))) I inked the title then placed a 'crackle' mask over the inked letters and re-inked through the mask using a darker ink. When the ink was dry I completed the title by coating with a layer of dimensional magic.
I heavily distressed the edges of this page using my border punches again. I rolled layers of torn paper and added little embellishments 'peeping' out through the tears. Bakers twine is the perfect finishing touch to almost all pages.
