Happy 1st of the month!!

Well, it’s another new month - where do the days fly to? It will be Easter in the blink of an eye and it seems as though Christmas has only just passed! Anyway a new month means lots of new challenges -yaaaaay! I have three DT pages to share with you today - so grab a cup of tea and take a few minutes to yourself :)

The first is the new sketch challenge at 'Stuck' Sketches.

Isn't that a great sketch - perfect for scrapping a couple (or more) photos and adding lots of clusters of cute embellies! I has these photos of Natalie on her first day in Form 6 (neither of us can believe that she is already a 6th former!) sitting on my desk. This sketch was perfect as i wanted to include both the 'serious' photo and the silly, quirky one which shows her personality more :) I have also had these school themed papers from Kaisercraft in my 'to use' box for a few weeks now - they are really cool as they can look good with teenage school themed pages as well as younger children.

I had fun with this chippie butterfly. I inked it with green and yellow ink then I stamped the grid pattern over it. I finished it off with a layer of dimensional magic to give it that 'enammeled' look.

Visit the Stuck blog to see more takes on this sketch by the other amazing DT members. There are great prizes to be won and you have a whole month to get your entry in !

My second page is for Anne Pennington's awesome challenge blog 'Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge' If you have never visited this blog you should go and have a look. Anne is such a lovely person and her challenges rock! They are designed to get you thinking about yourself and scrapping those 'hard to do' pages about your own history, life and dreams. This month the challenge is this :

What is on your "bucket list" - your list of items that you want to accomplish before you "kick the bucket".If you have already made a layout on this subject and your list has not been updated - maybe you'd like to scrap about an item from your first list that you have already accomplished or that you want to elaborate on.

Here is my DT page:

I have scrapped a few pages about our trip to Disneyland last year but it really was a dream come true for me and a long-term goal achieved.

I used a combination of October Afternoon 'Midway' papers and TC 'Stationary Noted'.

Check out this gorgeous chipboard from 2Crafty. The polaroid frames are so versatile and are great for highlighting a favourite photo. I painted this one black, outlined the frame with a white gel pen and added a strip of washi tape and some bakers twine to finish it off. I love the new word bubbles too! I painted the 'fun' one and backed the letters with black cardstock to make them stand out. Finally the arrow - how cute is that? I painted it and stamped it with a random text stamp. The finished page is bright and fun reminding us of our happy day in Disney.

My third page is based on the newest sketch at Purple Pumpkin

I used my disney photos again for this one. Sophie loved the carousel and couldn't get enough rides on it. Here I used mainly October Afternoon 'Midway' papers with a little of my Kaisercraft School themed line which just happened to co-ordinate completely! Check out that gorgeous chippie feather - again from 2Crafty.

I coated it in white gesso then added details to the feather with pink and red acrylic paint. When the paint was dry I coated the whole thing in distress stickles and finally a layer of dimensional magic.

And here are the gorgeous Purple Pumpkin details. The white doily, shaggy red flower and the heart flair button all make a delicious cluster together and perfectly fit in with the theme of the page.

If you have made it to the end of my post - well done!!! I hope I have inspired you to check out some of these awesome challenge blogs and do a little scrapping yourself. There are many great prizes to be won and guest DT positions up for grabs :) \

Have a great weekend!
