On Easter Sunday this year we had an unexpected deluge. It has been an amazing summer here in Auckland and this was the first rain that we had seen in many weeks. The girls were so excited that they begged to go outside and play in it. Well how could I refuse. We quickly put a plastic bag over sophies cast and out they went. I think the following hour was the highlight of their Easter weekend. They had so much fun collecting water in their gumboots and pouring it over each other. I took heaps of photos and these are two of my favourites.
When I saw this sketch at Life, Paper, Scissors I knew that it would fit what I had in mind.
I rotated it 90 degrees onto its side and went from there. My papers are mainly Amy Tan (American Craft) and I was able to have a play with my new Studio Calico masks.
Happy to say that the sun is shining again now and the girls are still the best of friends :)))
