This is my take on the current awesome sketch at 'Sketchabilities'.
Natalie and I took the little kids for a walk on the beach and I snapped this shot of her 'posing' on a rock :)))
I love the way the sky above her head is tinted pink as though she is glowing with joy.
I wanted to match my background colours as closely as possible to the photo. The starburst mask seemed an obvious choice again and I used a mix of pink, blue and grey inks. I also emphasized the 'rays' using washi tape and white gesso. I used my gorgeous 'Studio Calico' 'Snippits' papers to mat the photo and kept fairly close to the sketch deign which I really love.
The cool chipboard filmstrip is from 2Crafty and the white flower is 'Prima' ofcourse (one of the new Lisa Gibbons florals now available at Scottie Crafts).
I added the title and the birds as a finishing touch. I really like the way the line of birds leads the eye to the photo. I painted them black to mimic the silhouette effect of the photo.
Hope you are having a great week and that my Auckland friends are keeping warm and dry in this horrible weather!
