My 2Crafty July reveal :)

Hello 2crafty lovers, it is my turn to share some 2Crafty goodness with you today. Here in NZ it is the middle of winter and the weather is cold and miserable. I needed to remind myself that warm summer days are just around the corner so I chose to scrap this gorgeous photo that I took of my little son and daughter strolling along a beautiful beach in Fiji under a bright blue sky.

I love the photo and all the memories that are associated with it so mch that I really wanted to make it a strong focus of my page. What better way to do that than to enlarge it to A4 size? I used some of my favourite 'Crate Paper' papers and embellishments to highlight the photo and to mat the smaller photo that I added to my page. I used texture paste and a mask to make the chevron design along the top and bottom of my large photo.
The 'chicken wire' from 2Crafty was perfect to add touch of 'grunge' detail to my smaller photo and to lift it a little from the page.

I painted it with gesso and added a few swipes of texture paste before tucking it beneath the small photo. The mini ruler strip beneath the photo and the grass clump add detail to my cluster with minimal bulk. they are both available from 2Crafty.
The 2Crafty title was just perfect for this page - our trip to Fiji really was a 'Dream come True'. The original chipboard phrase was 'You are a Dream Come true' and I simply trimmed away the unwanted words to leave the sentiment that suited my page. I painted the phrase with gesso and white distress paint.

The 2Crafty bird  was a great finishing touch to my page.I inked it with brown ink then stamped the checker design over the top with black stayz-on ink. Finally I added a coat of dimensional magic to give it a glossy, enamelled look.
The second project that I would like to share with you features a photo of my husband and little son making the most of the NZ winter weather. It is another beach photo but with quite a different feel to it.

I firstly ran my black cardstock background through my Silhouette Cameo die cut machine to get the polka dot border effect. I used 'Gelato' pens to make the dribbly, rainbow colours for my white background panel, and a leaf mask with green spray ink to superimpose the foliage design over the gelato pattern. The 2Crafty rustic iron fence was perfect for this winter beach themed page. I gave it a 'rusted metal' look by first coating with gesso and texture paste. When dry I inked the fence with rusty hinge distress ink and a little black ink for highlighting.

I gave the same treatment to the 2crafty tags alongside my photo, then added some pattened paper details to the tabs.

The 2Crafty title 'Father and Son Moment' completed my page perfectly. I primed it with gesso before painting it with blue distress paint and inking with black ink.

You will have seen my final page recently if you are a follower of my blog.

It is based on the current sketch challenge at 'Scrapfriends'. I had some new MME papers and these cute photos of my kids and my sons girlfriend painting pots at a locan ceramic painting workshop. They seemed destined to go together :)
I tore up some patterned paper strips to mat the photos and added a layer of gesso to unify all the colours in the strips. I inked the background paper and used my new 'Prima' letter stamp to add a little interest to my design. The squiggle border flourish  is one of my favourite 2Crafty designs. It adds such a cool finishing touch to the page. I painted it with distress paint then coated it with dimensional magic for that glossy look.

The chipboard arrow that I added to my paper strips is also from 2Crafty. I coloured it with a blue gelato, inked the edges then used an arrow design roller stamp and 'Stayz-on ink' to roll a pattern over the surface.

I hope that you have enjoyed looking at my pages today and that I have managed to inspire you to try out some new tecniques using our gorgeous 2crafty products. Look forward to sharing again with you next month :)
