A Moment Captured

The new CSI?2Crafty reveal is live today here:
This week you are in for a real treat with these awesome colours, Em Stafrace's fun sketch and tons of beautiful 2Crafty chipboard.

The photo I used is a recent favourite. I love the beach in winter and this image of  Benji gazing out over the ocean under a moody grey sky gives me goosebumps. I cut the photo into three sections to mimic the multiphoto sketch. My papers are from an older 'October Afternoon' collection and all the gorgeous chipboard is from 2Crafty.

This rustic fence with dandelions growing alongside it was perfect for a winter beach. I painted both pieces with white distress paint, inked hem with rusty hinge distress ink and added details to the dandelion seeds with a brown copic marker pen. The nautical elements (anchor and sailboat) are Studio Calico veneers and along with the crimped 'textured' paper under my photo satisfy the CSI evidence criteria.

I chose the 2crafty chipboard chevrons to imitate the chevron design in the sketch, but I chose to add them to only one side of my photo.

I journaled on a piece of lined paper to fulfil the CSI journaling criteria and used a beautiful 2crafty phrase as my title. I painted the title with white acrylic paint and sealed it with dimensional magic.
This is a really fun challenge to do - head over to the CSI blog and check out the other DT members fabulous takes then take a couple of hours for yourself and just enjoy creating :)))

I'm with the Other Lizzie...those dandelions, the fence & the title all work sooo well here. Great pic...I'm liking how you & some of the others merely cut one pic up into bits. Works a treat:):)
