I finally found time to squeeze a challenge into our busy weekend. here is my take on the 'Once Upon a Sketch challenge:
The theme is 'Lucky' and not a day goes by that I don't feel blessed to have this little guy in my life! I tucked my journaling behind the top photo as it is a personal little message to Benji about how much he has enriched our lives and how very lucky I feel to be his mother (lots of soppy stuff that most boys love but prefer to be kept private lol).
Anyway, I had fun making the starburst background with sprays, masks, washi tape and gesso. I added the yellow stars using texture paste through a mask then spraying over the stars (with the mask in place) after the paste had dried. I matted my photos onto journaling cards that I had received in my Studio Calico PL kit and added frames, washi tape and chipboard elements to embellish.
I cut the title on my Silhouette using chipboard - I really love the 2Crafty chipboard titles that I get in my design team kits, and I wanted to have a go at cutting my own. It worked really well. I used chipboard sheets that are sold specifically to be used in the Silhouette Cameo. Overall I still prefer my 2Crafty titles as they are thicker and less friable, but cutting your own is great when you need to personalise a page title or when you run out of other suitable phrases!

I have been on the CSI DT for the last 6 months and I can honestly say that I have loved every moment!
