Here is my take on the colour challenge at Life, Paper, Scrapbook. I LOVE this challenge blog - the challenges are so much fun! The photo that I used is my favourite shot taken on Jaimes 21st birthday. We went 10 pin bowling and i managed to get the shot just right as Jaime was running to bowl his ball so that Jaime is in perfect focus and everything else blurred! (I couldn't do this again if I tried!) I was tempted to crop it a little but in the end I left is as it is. I really like that you can see Sophie in the bachground with her cute little pink skirt and sneakers, and although the photo composition may not be perfect I think that it is the memories that are more important :)
I had fun stamping and inking my background before running it through my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the chevron background design. I backed the chevrons with scraps of patterned paper and outlined them with a gel pen.
Again I haave used my Crate Paper transparencies as a design element. They add a great graphic look to the page. Ofcourse I cut them up so that nothing gets wasted ;) The awesome date strip is a Studio Calico stamp!
Thanks for calling into my blog today - hope you are having a great weekend. Here in Auckland it is a beautiful sunny day and the kids are outside enjoying the first water fight of the season:)
