21.1K - New CSI challenge!

Here is the new challenge - and those colours were the perfect excuse for me to record the event that has made me the most proud of myself this year - my half marathon run. I took up running two years ago and until then I did no formal exercise at all. My goal was to run 5kms without stopping and I surprised myself by not only achieving this fairly quickly but also by finding myself in love with running! As a person who avoided working up a sweat at all cost this is nothing short of miraculous! The idea of running a half marathon only occurred to me at the beginning of this year. When I found out that friends of ours were also attempting the Auckland half marathon for the first time I bit the bullet and signed up. At the time that I entered the furthest distance that I had run was 7kms! I downloaded a training plan and followed it religiously. I hoped to run the distance in around 2 hours 30 mins, but really would have been happy just to finish. My time on the day (2 hours 13 mins) was way better that I had hoped and I was so excited to cross another thing off my bucket list!
As I had several photos to include I chose a divided page design and again I pencilled a graphic background onto my white cardstock (thanks again Leanne Pearce for the idea!).
From the evidence list I used wood (the chevrons) and the butterfly. For the journaling I am hoping that the lines on my journaling card and tag will count as 'stripes' (I know that is stretching the limits a little!).
Here are a few close-ups of my page. Do hop over to CSI
to see the other DT members fantastic pages and to enter this challenge yourself.

Have a great weekend :)
