Your Story Together!

I finally got a little time to myself yesterday and decided to do a little crafting! This sketch from 'Sketchabilities' cought my attention:

Isn't it cool! I liked it so much that I stuck quite closely to it for my layout. I chose this photo of my eldest son and his lovely girlfriend taken a couple of weeks ago on our pre-Xmas trip to the Gold Coast. They looks so happy and relaxed together.
I love the 'newsprint' like background of the sketch. I tried mimic this effect by using gelatos as water colours and painting them through an alpha stencil then stamping over the letters with a tiny alpha stamp.

I then used a 'splatter' stamp and walnut ink to make the ink blodge and created the rings using distress paint and various sized container lids.

I layered on the rest of my elements according to the sketch. I used the 'Story' banner as part of my title.
The cute chippie chevrons are a 2Crafty product.

Thanks for visiting my blog today - hope you had a lovely Christmas and all the very best for 2014!
