You and Me

The new sketch at Stuck? is live! Here is my take for the design team. I most often scrap photos of my kids so when my daughter took this cute shot of my hubby and I outside auckland museum I just had to scrap it. I used some of my favourite 'happy' colours and current 'go to' products for this one. I also added a lot of 2Crafty goodies!

First check out the sketch:

Isn't it cool. I really love the two circular elements which I represented with doilies. I stuck quite close to the sketch as I really like it. I added a big flower (yes, another layout with flowers!!!!) to the corner of my photo which I felt needed balancing out so i added a cute cluster of elements to the upper right hand corner (any excuse to use some of these adorable transparencies from Studio Calico!).

Now look at the gorgeous 2crafty chipboard that I used.
First the title - I really love the long phrases that are available - I can get a similar effect using my Silhouette Cameo, but I am lazy and why go to the trouble of selecting, sizing, placing and cutting when I can just add a few dabs of paint to ready cut chipboard and voila, its done! I get some extra texture this way too :) I painted the arrow white, and stamped a chequered pattern onto it before outlining the piece with a gel pen.

I don't often use flowers in my scrapping, but this gorgeous yellow Prima bloom matched my page perfectly. I added two smaller hot pink flowers and a chipboard swirl to complete the cluster.

I added lots of layers of die-cuts, stickers and chipboard around my photo and completed my page with the rub on 'pencil look' chevrons and a few strips of Washi tape.

Thanks for coming over to visit my blog today and I hope that you will check out our challenge over at Stuck? sketches.
