Always Playing Catch Up

I took this photo of Benji chasing his sister Sophie and her best friend into school yesterday. As soon as I had taken it I knew what story it would tell and I couldn't wait to get home and start my layout! Little Benji spends all his days trying to keep up with his big sisters and brothers. Sometimes he gets frustrated but usually he is quietly accepting of his position in the family. I wanted this page to tell him that although Sophie easily outruns him now, one day he will undoubtedly be bigger than her and most probably stronger and faster.
I used the sketch over at Skissedilla as the base for my page. It was perfect to highlight a single photo.  I had a play with my inktense pencils (I couldn't resist) to get the background to blend in with my photo. I punched and distressed the edges of my cardstock then adhered it to the centre of a sheet of green patterned paper (gutted first ofcourse) to give a border frame effect.
I matted my photo on some left over strips of patterned paper from a variety of manufacturers and some tags and cardstock flower die-cuts from an older Teresa Collins collection. The photo negative strip transparency is from Kaisercraft.

I love those vellum alphas from 'Studio Calico' - they seem to match any style of title!

Thanks for popping over to my place for a vivit today. I hope that your weekend is going well!
