A Not Very Scary Pirate

I was browsing through the pages of the awesome on-line magazine 'Life, Paper, Scrapbook' (if you haven't found this magazine yet you really need to hop over here - it is truly AWESOME) when I came across the work of a scrapbook artist called 'Mette'. I was so inspired by her pages that I wanted to have a go at her style. This page is the result. (thanks Mette I love your style!).
I adore the photo of Benji dressed up as a 'Scary Pirate'. Really??? just look at those furry slippers!, not to mention the cute little smile. The current challenge at another of my favourite new discoveries - 'Off the Rails Scrapbooking' is 'stencils and masks'. Easy for me since I used masks in almost every page that I create. Here I sprayed blue ink through a very cool 'Prima' bubble mask, inked through another chequerboard mask and finished off by spraying grey ink through another starry mask and letting the wet ink dribble down the page. The stitched circles are another of my newest and most loved aquisitions - they are from a 'Prima' stamp set. I coloured them in using my 'Inktense' water colour pencils.

My papers and most of my labels and die-cuts are all Heidi Swapp and the photo-negative transparency is cut from a 12x12" sheet from Kaisercraft.

This is a great challenge to try out - very easy and open to your own interpretation. Hope you are having a great week :)

I like the background alot. The misting, circles, stamping. The layers of stripes and the different fonts and colours in the title.
