I was recently lucky enough to win someof these awesome kaisercraft 'Limelight' papers so I decided to have a go at the kaisercraft Saturday sketch competition. Here is the first sketch for April and my page based on it.
The photo of my youngest and oldest children was taken at Auckland zoo. We were celebrating Benjis 5th and Opas 80th birthdays. Chris had put benji on his shoulders so that he could get a better view of the monkeys (one of their favourite animals). I love the happy smiles on both their faces.
I loved all the layers in the sketch and I stuck quite closely to its format.
I did a lot of fussy cutting on this one. I loved that big rose that I cut for my corner piece and I found some black and white butterflies in an older Kaisercraft range that I had in my stash which were perfect to 'sit' amongst the flowers.
I also loved the hearts on the sketch and I embelished this idea using wood veneer hearts, sequines and rub on gold stars.

This looks wonderful.. that photo is amazing, great take on the sketch love all the layers.. and yes looking forward to Easter, a special time of the year to me!
I love the layers adn the details ... I like to make monotone layouts so much ... I just dont that often ... after seeing this back on the radar .. Thanks
