Pink Always

Here is the new awesome sketch from 'Sketchabilities'. How could I resist trying this one out?  Karan's Sketches are just the best!
A couple of weeks ago Sophie broke her arm on the monkey bars at school (again!! - she did exactly the same thing last year!). Well on Thursday she got her permanent cast put on. She had spent days pondering the available colour choices and was determined to go for a different colour than pink this time (she had pink last time she broke her arm). Well, all thoughts of other colours went out of the window when she saw this gorgeous hot pink colour and she was delighted with the result. She really is a girlie-girl!
I inked and sprayed my background with my usual variety of stencils and stamps. My papers are a mix of whatever I had in my scraps box along with some Kaisercraft and Studio Calico die-cuts.

Check out those flowers - two of them!!! I rarely use flowers on my pages but the colour of these Prima blooms was a perfect match for Sophie's cast!

I used my new Prima stitched circle stamps for the background circles and I coloured them with inktense water colour pencils. The original photo had a very messy, busy background which I hated. So I did something that I rarely do and silhouettted Sophie from the photo. I then replaced the backgound with a Crate Paper transparency. it looks so much better than the original photo - I will definitely remember this technique for future photos!
There is still time to enter this challenge at Sketchabilities - do go over and take a look! Have a great week :)

I remember your last year post about it. "Oops, she did it again" (not funny, I know. And she's such a cheerful girl)
The cut out photo looks good too.
