Here is the July sketch challenge over at Scrap 365 and my take on it. Last weekend my eldest daughter Natalie went to her first formal evening - her 7th form ball. She has been anticipating this event for over two years and was so excited. Her best friend Nadine came over to our house so that the girls could get dressed together. They had a fantastic time dressing up in all their finary and doing each others hair and make-up.
This is one of my favourite photos from the pre-ball. the girls look so happy and excited. I love how this sketch really makes the photo the focus of the page. I used a mixture of green and teal spray inks to make a watercolour effect for my background and stamped on top of this with black stayz-on ink.
My papers are from Echo Park and the gorgeous chipboard title is from Scrap FX. I heat embossed ot with white embossing powder for a glossy finish.
I got these cute little banner pennants in a Studio Calico Project Life kit. I painted them with distress paint, inked the edges and threaded some bakers twine to 'hang' them from. I typed my journaling and cut it into strips then randomly sprinkled some gem stones and sequines around the page to finish it off. Thanks for visiting my blog today and I hope that your week is going really well. Do visit the Scrap 365 blog and check out the ton of inspiration available for grabs over there! I guarentee that you will be inpressed!
