Have you checked out the new Kraft Plus challenge blog yet? It is the 'baby' of Sandra Wallace and is seriously FUN!! Here is the first colour combo and my take on it.
These colours were just crying out for a beach photo. i took this one on our recent holiday to Omapere in the North of New Zealand. It is arguably one of the most beautiful places on earth.
The kids and In were walking along the sand in the early morning - trying to keep the noise level in our bach down and let the others have a sleep in :) Sophie took Benji's hand because he was scared that he would encounter a crab - not an unreasonable fear as there are some huge crabs living under the rocks along this part of the shore.
I chose the perfect piece of kraft paper from American Crafts as my page base - it has a subtle beach print. I sprayed and inked my background but the ink didn't stand out quite as much as I wanted it to on the darker kraft colour. So I watered down some yellow, red and orange acrylic paint and used it to splatter over the page. The effect is much more vibrant that using the same technique with inks.
I stamped a random wavy pattern around my photo cluster and built up an interesting mat using stickers, tags, die cuts and other ephemera. Again I used a 2Crafty feather. These cute little embellishments seem to go with many themes!
I used thickers for my title and handwrote the journaling. Thanks for visiting my page - I hope that you visit the new Kraft Plus site and have a go at this challenge yourself. Sandra and the team have put in so much work to making this an awesome place to browse for inspiration and they have some fantastic prizes lined up!!!
