Our Brighton Daytrip - White with One June Challenge

Love all the brand new challenges available at the beginning of the month. As soon as I saw this challenge at White with One I couldn't wait to try it out. I love the blue colour - although I found it impossible to keep to just one shade of blue and ended up incorporating a range of blues into my page.
The photos were taken in the seaside town on Brighton - about an hour by train from cental london. As a child growing up in England I spent a lot of happy vacations at the seaside and I really wanted my kids to experience a traditional seaside resort. None of us had ever been to Brighton before but it was everything that I had hoped it would be and we all had the best day!
I sprayed my white cardstock background withblue spray ink and stamped over it with both acrylic paint and inks. I used papers from the new October Afternoon 'Treasure map' collection - which had just arrived in the mail and was crying out to be 'played with'.

I had so many photos from our day that I had to make my page multi-photo. I picked out four of my favourites and arranged them with stickers, tags and ephemera into a grid pattern.

The hardest part of my page was sticking to blue only - but I love the result. It really helps to make the photos 'pop'. There are a lot of colours in the photos themselves and the monochromatic background does not clash with and detract from the pictures. It allows them to be the focus of the page!
Thanks for visiting my blog today - hope you have a great week!
