Above is the new mood board at Scrap Around the World and my take on it. I loved the wood elements and the brown and pink colour scheme which I incorporated into my page.
The photo that I chose is a favourite of mine. Benjis best friend at school is a little girl called Ariana. They adore each other and both say that they are going to be married when they grow up. So cute! This snapshot was taken at the kids soccer match. They play on the same team but this week Benji was sidelined with a broked foot. He still insisted on going down to the club and watching his friend play.
I chose a woodgrain background paper and stamped, inked and splattered with white acrylic paint. I find that watered down paint gives a more opaque finish on dark backgrounds compared with spray ink.
I used a plethora of random tags and miscellany to matt my photo an make it 'pop' from the page. I was inspired by the twine on the mood board to make a feature of the coiled twine attached to my 'girlie' tag.
I wanted to tell the story of this photo - (it will be great to bring out on Benjis 21st I think ) so I used strips of patterned paper and handwrote directly onto them.
Thanks for a great challenge SATW - I really enjoyed this one!

Just beautiful! Wouldn't it be REALLY funny if they were together on his 21st? You never know! Meanwhile, it's a lovely page celebrating friendship & good on B going to watch the team even if he couldn't play. That wood pp is fabulous, too:):)
