Dream Big - Stuck Sketches Nov 1st sketch

 I always love Lauras sketches at 'Stuck Sketches' . This one is a beauty - and great for highlighting one special photo. The girls in my family are ballet crazy. My great grandmother was a ballerina for the Sadler Wells ballet in London many years ago. Both my mother and grandmother were talented at ballet but it skipped a generation with me. My two girls however are passionate about dance. Sophie dreams of dancing for the Royal Ballet in the UK and she works incredibly hard to make her dream come true. She takes ballet classes 6 days a week in addition to Jazz and acro. She gets up at 6am each day to stretch and work on her pointe.
I took this gorgeous photo of her practicing with her big sister natalie for the Xmas recitals coming up over the next few weeks.  I love the way the ray of sunlight cuts a diagonal through the background.
I wanted to keep the page fairly simple to make the photo really shine and I love the way the black background makes the red tones in the photo really 'pop'.

I kept close to the sketch as I really loved it. I even added flowers from my stash (well a ballet page has to have flowers doesnt it?). The wooden butterflies and stars seemed to fit well with the theme.

I handwrote my journaling onto the background cardstock with a white gel pen and added my title to a chipboard heart.
