The mid-month reveal is now up at Kraft-it-up. The challenge is to create a 'vintage style' page. Now nothing could be further from my comfort zone than vintage! I was really stressing out about my DT take on this one. But I ended up scrapping a photo that I really love (my son and his girlfriend) and had been on my 'to do' pile for a while, and I really love the result. So, I guess that's what challenges are all about - trying something new.
I used up some older 'Prima' and 'Glitz Design' papers on this page. I used gesso, texture paint and stamps to build up my background. The gorgeous chippie fence and flourish are both from 2-Crafty
I primed the both with white gesso then with Tim Hiltz distress paint in 'Picket Fence' for the fence and 'Walnut' for the flourish. To add some sparkle to the flourish I sprinkled glitter over the wet distress paint and when it had dried thoroughly added a coat of dimensional magic as a sealant.
Hope you have time to visit the KIU blog and try out this challenge yourself.
