'Groovy' Papers and more cute kids

Kathleen at NZ Scrapbooks asked me to do some LOs using the bright and beautiful 'Groovy' paper collection from KI Memories. I had a lot of fun doing these. When I saw the die-cut flower paper I immediately thought of these photos of Sophie ice-skating for the first time a few weekends ago. I cut out several differing sized circles and layered them round my favourite photo of her little face all tousled from spinning round and round on the ice. I included a few tiny shots of her actually skating along the edges - they were a little blurry because she was moving so fast so I thought that printing them out small would minimise the blur. A fe colourful buttons and trim finished off the LO. Sophie loves this one so much that she says it is her favourite LO to date!! (high praise indeed).
The second LO features a photo of my beautiful 13 year old daughter Natalie dressed in her choir outfit before a school concert. The dull colours of the photo really needed a lift. The papers really made the photo 'pop' and reflected the bright and bubbly nature of my girl. The little tag was easy to make with some kaisercraft stamps.
I took the photos for the final LO early one Saturday morning. Ben and Sophie had just got new PJs and looked so adorable in them that I had to get some pictures. The papers matched the reds in the pjs and I added both feminine elements (flowers and bunting) and boyish embellishments (gears and grunge) to reflect both my daughter and son. The grungeboard gears were made using a Tim Holtz sissix die and the background pattern using a Tim Holtz mask and Walnut distress ink - Scottie crafts have a fantastic range of Tim Holtz products if you are as addicted to them as LOL
