Benji and Baxter's playdate, my Favourite Flower and two pages by Miss Sophie aged 6!!

Look at these two cuties. Benji just LOVES going over to Els's house to play with Baxter. They are both outdoorsy little boys and love riding their trikes, 'mowing' the grass and playing with their cars and trucks. Last week I took these photos of them just chasing each other round and round in circles on their little ride-on toys. They are so darned cute! The paper is Studio Calico (from Scotty Craft). I love the summer colours in this range. The yellows and oranges are bright, but not too overwhelming. They let the photos take centre stage. I kept the embellishments to a minimum (for me) so that the photos really 'popped'. The colour scheme is this weeks combo from 'The colour room'.

This LO has to be one of my all time favourites. The Prima BAP sketch for April and these beautiful Prima papers and embellishments really helped me to highlight this special memory. Rarely a day goes by that my little Sophie doesn't present me with a handpicked bouquet. her flowers are usually daisies, dandelions and buttercups - weeds to most, but treasures to me. I can't walk past a patch of dandelions without thinking of her. I have had this LO in my head for a while now so thankyou Prima for inspiring me to fiinally make the page.
OK - now for the proud mama bit! Sophie (age 6) sat down with me whilst I was working this morning and produced these two pages in about an hour. Now we had made the distressed paper that she used for the 2nd LO a while ago when she was making a treasure map for school. She decided that the left overs would be an interesting base for her LO. She made the big black doily for her first LO using my new Martha Stuart 'punch around the page' punch. Sophie was watching me trying to figure out how to use the corner punch to make a perfect circle. I was getting frustrated so she decided to show me that it didn't need to be perfect to look great! The pinwheel centre was her sister's idea. The two girls had been makiing pinwheels from an oragami set the previous day. I think that she did a fantastic job! Well done Sophie, mummy is very proud of you xxx
