This is my attempt at the GDT challenge over at Sketchy Thursdays. I love the main photo of Benji and Sophie standing together on the same chair helping Natalie to make Christmas cookies. The photo is not of the best quality but it is definitely one of those 'ahhh' moments that just have to be scrapped!
My papers are from October Afternoon's 'Modern Homemaker' collection. I used lots of ink and distressing on this one. The large star was cut from chipboard and run through the cuttlebug to emboss it. I then spritzed it with Studio Calico mist and rubbed metallic paste over the surface to pick up the embossed pattern. I made the two smaller stars using a stencil and texture paste. When the paste was dry I rubbed the same metallic paste over the surface to highlight the texture. The cute little library card is from Maya Road. I embossed the envelope using the fantastic Tim Holtz 'alterations' embossing envelope then rubbed distress ink over the embossing to make it 'pop'. The result is a grungy, splotchy, messy LO - rather like my kids when they had finished baking :)
