18

My son Adam recently celebrated his 18th birthday. His lovely girlfriend Isabel arranged a surprise party and baked this gorgeous 'Tim Burton' cake (Adam is a huge fan of all Tim Burton's work). This was one of my favourite photos from the evening. They both look so happy together and were having such a great time.
The new sketch at Scrap Africa is the base for this page. I used mainly left-over OA 'Sassparilla' papers and some acrylic paint which I dry brushed, stamped and splodged over the background (heaps of fun!). The houndstooth paper frame came about a little by accident. I put my LO down on top of my paper pile whilst I washed out my paint brushes. The houndstooth pattern was uppermost and I really liked how it seemed to make my page seemed to 'pop' so I mounted my page in the centre of the paper!
