Beyond Siblings

This is my first 'just because' page for a long time. I really liked these photos of Adam and Natalie just enjoying being together. We were out to dinner at a cute little English pub and they decided to swap glasses and pose :) In a large family there are lots of different and changing inter-reations and dynamics between the members. Adam and Natalie are the middle children - 2 1/2 years apart in age. They have always had a really close, loving relationship. They quite simply adore each other and are the best of friends. I wanted to show that in my page, but I also wanted it to be fun and contemporary - just like they are.
I painted a giant butterfly wing with blue acrylic paint on my white cardstock and added lots of splodges of blue and white paint and some paint rings. Then I took my new Crafter's Workshop script template, laid it over my shape and used a brown paint dauber to imprint the script letters onto the blue painted area. The film strip is also a new aquisition that I was dying to use - It is a Tim Holtz product. The rest of my page is just a collage of tissue tape, OA stickers, flowers and paper scraps.
I edged my photos with a black paint dauber in keeping with the grungy look that I was after. A little bit of machine stitching tied my stickers together (and I managed to use up quite a lot of left-over stickers on this page!).
'Beyond' is one of the current word challenges over at 'Bird is the Word' right now. I thought that it was perfect for my title, and Soul Scrappers have a word challenge using 'Blessed' which ended up being part of my journaling. I was not sure where to put my journaling until I decided on the large die-cut butterfly shape. The story fit just perfectly onto it and enhanced my page design too :)

This is really, really 'fun' - perfect for the challenge at BIRD & it's great you've still got a little time in your busy schedule for 'you' scrapping!!! Mum & I found all the 'Smash' stuff last night...then i remembered a book a teaching friend had given me years ago that might just do the trick without buying one...it's pretty much just like the smash ones, so I think I'll take it & FINALLY use it!! Along with the little bits I'm gonna buy too....your album is going great guns:):):)
