Reach for the Stars and some more Smash Book pages

Don't you jusrt LOVE the colours in this new 'Cakewalk' range by October Afternoon! It is supposed to be a birthday party themed collection, but as is always the case with OA, the papers go well for a huge variety of other themes. The new word at 'Bird is the Word' is 'Reach'. This made me think of our recent trip to Disney. The theme parks there really do bring magic alive. These photos were taken on our first day at California Adventure park. There were so many colours, sounds and smells around us that we didn't know what to do first! The bright, chaotic background paper that I used really reminded me of being in the park at the start of the day. I used the Kraft tickets and the black cardstock to break up the busy colours a little  (the tickets are from Tim Holtz).
Hey and did you notice that I didn't ise any spray inks on this one - none at all!!! I thought that it was probably colourful enough lol.
Here are the latest Smash Book pages that I have finished. I am about half way through our trip now and up to the hardest part - scrapping my children with their granny (who has terminal Altzheimers). The photos are so hard for me to look at that I am really struggling to do them justice. I may leave them until a later date. It was heartbreaking for me saying goodbye to my mum knowing that I would most probable never see her alive again. She has had Altzheimers for over 10 years now and so has been 'gone' to us for a long time. Spending time with her this month was a blessing, but so hard too.
Anyway here are the last pages that I have done :)

I looked at this sketch & just had no idea how to do the 'rays'...you've done it perfectly....OA papers really seem to suit your style. Almost fell off the train seat, when you said NO MISTING. NADA. HUH???!!!! And I'm glad I made you be a 'bad' girl...nothing like being a little naughty....I'm sure I'll see that chevron mask doing amazing stuff that I never thought of doing [no pressure!!\..would be hard to scrap your Mum...really hard...but I am really, really enjoying your London snaps. Keep thinking 'been there'...'I remember that'...you know....:):):):)

I also wanted to say I know how hard it must be to scrap the photos of your mum. I work with Alzheimer residents in a long term care facility. They still have their memories of long ago, and you can remember the good times you had with your mum. It's a sad illness for a family to endure. Keep the faith and I'm glad you are trying to scrap some of her photos.
