New Challenges for a New Month!!!

Welcome to a new month (I for one can't believe it is already October!) and here are two brand new, fresh, inspiring challenges from Kraft it Up and Another freaking Scrappy Challenge.
First here is my DT take on KIU's October challenge:

The challenge is really simple - all you have to do is use misting on your page (and ofcourse a Kraft base).  Here I used a combination of masks and stencils to mist through to make my own unique background. I recently bought the 12" chevron mask from Crafter's Workshop (I already have the 6" one) and I am completely in love with it! I have used both here to make and arrow effect leading the eye to my photo.
I took the photo whilst we were waiting to see the 'Hairy Maclary' Show at the PumpHouse in Takapuna. This theatre has a beautiful lake and park around it and the kids were enjoiying a bit of spring sunshine. They were sharing the headphones of Sophie's ipod and singing along to their favourite Taylor Swift songs - so cute!

My second page is for the DT over at AFSC. Here the challenge is to scrap a page about a school reunion or if like me you have no photos along this line you can scrap about any High School memory.

I had no photos of myself that were suitable for this one so i used a photo of my high-school aged daughter Natalie and journaled about a few of my own memories of being her age. Notice that chevron mask again (well you can't really miss it can you lol). Natalie loves this photo that one of her friends recently snapped with her phone. I usd the divine new Heidi Swapp memory system papers and embellishments (including that gorgeous polaroid-style frame) with a little OA and Prima thrown into the mix. The cute wooden bird is from Prima and the charm is from Bo Bunny. You may notice that I am using quite a bit of washi tape on my recent pages! I LOVE this stuff!
Have a great week and try out one or both of these challenges for an opportunity to win some great prizes :)
