More Challenges!!!

Here is my DT take for the KIU November challenge. The challenge is 'minimalistic/white space' designs. My page is a bit of a disaster for these criteria, but I honestly ment to leave a lot of white space! Its just that I found so many yummy bits and bobs to add and my photo cluster just kept on expanding outwards. I guess me and white space are just not a great combination (sigh)! I really admire those talented scrappers who effortlessly pull off amazing minimalistic designs (check out the pages from the other KIU DT members and you'll see what I mean!)
Anyway, I used Pink Paislee 'Portfolio' papers for my layout. Since the papers tended to get a little lost in the darker craft background cardstock I dry brushed some black paint around the edges to help make them 'pop'. The paper doily is from Purple Pumpkin.

My second page 'First Soccer boots' is for 'Scrap the Boys'. I was honoured to win their September challenge and be offered a guest designer spot. The challenge is a colour one. Here is the colour scheme:

                                                  STB November Challenge

Looks a little 'Halloweeny' and that was what I planned to do with it until I found these photos :)

Benji had just got his first pair of tiny soccer boots and thought he was the bees knees! The colours matched so well that I just had to use them. The other two criteria were to use 2 photos and to have a 3 word title. I had to use my fav photo of Benji jumping for joy (even though it is a little blurry). In the other photo I chose he looks just like a little version of his big brothers and that pose it soooo cute!
The papers that I used for this page are from October Afternoon's 'Midway' collection. This is one of my favourite OA collections (and I love them all). The colours are so vibrant and the prints so fun. But, the best part in my opinion is that this collection is 'white' based instead of the usual 'cream' base colour of OA papers. I love that the white is so fresh and clean looking. That cute orange flare button is from Purple Pumpkin. A little machine stitching finished off the page perfectly.
Have a great day :)

So cute! Hey has anyone tried the templates from Broorian Designs? They are over on Etzy. I was having a look and wondered if anyone else had given them a go.
