He's Just Not that into Asian Food!

I have had these photo in my 'to scrap' pile since the day I took them. I knew that I just had to remember the face that Benji pulled when he saw his tray of street food at the Asian New Year lantern festival. He was so not impressed. Sophie dug in with gusto though! In the end Benji decided that he did love the rice, just not all those 'yukky vegetables' and he ate a good portion  of it. They both ate enough to qualify for dessert and when they saw the half pineapples or watermelons filled with ice-cream their eyes nearly popped out of their heads!
I inked my background with drops of Tim Holtz distress inks dripped straight onto the cardstock with an eye dropper. I sprayed the inked cardstock with a mist of water to allow the inks to blend gently together giving a water colour effect. When it was dry I dripped a little black ink over the colours to give some depth and contrast to the page. I also used my chevron mask to ink around where my photos were going to be placed.
I used the current sketch at 'Scrapfriends to design the page.

I know I've said it before but the sketches over at Scrapfriends really are amazing. They are so inviting that it is impossible not to give them a go! Here I repaced the two photos with a single landscape shot and added my second photo to the top border elements. The papers that I used are by Teresa Collins (my current obsession). I used my Cameo to cut my heart shaped doilies (I am really loving this cut right now and can't seem to get enough of these cute doilies!).
Hope you are having a great weekend wherever you are. Last night we camped out in the tent in our back garden because we had planned to go camping at a local hot pools this weekend but ofcourse now Sophie can't get her cast wet so we had to cancel! She was so disappointed that we decided to camp out in the garden complete with camp cooking, marshmallows and ghost stories. The kids had lots of fun - Mark and I did not get too much sleep though as both Sophie and Benji decided that they wanted to sleep on the airbed with mum and dad! I think I will be having an early night tonight!

Ice cream is better, sure!
I love Scrapfriends! they have good sketches but for me it's the way they draw them that make me grab my photos and make a page.
(I thought first that there were two photos, because of the shadows in the center of photo. So your LO is true to sketch, hehe).
