My 2 Girls

Check out the mid-month reveal at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. Here is my DT take on it and here is the sketch that it is based on:

Now there is a good story behind this page. I usually don't go for heavily detailed 'fussy' papers (I do love them but am never sure what to do with them). I gravitate more towards papers with small, colourful, repeating patterns that I can use to complement my own ink and mask backgrounds. When I saw this Lyric paper by 'Prima' at 'Scottie Crafts' I loved it. I mentioned to my daughter that I really liked the paper but would not know what to do with it. Sophie picked out her favourite two sheets and challenged me to make a page using just these papers.
Well, I didn't need another excuse to buy some more stash! - here is the result. I really like it too (but I have to confess that I did miss my spray inks). I did heaps of 'fussy cutting' to get the look that I wanted with this page. The Lyric papers are great for that - there are lots of cute elements, butterflies, clocks, tags etc, just begging to be cut out. The wooden fence is Kaisercraft and the fabric frame 'Crate Paper' (Maggie Holmes collection).
This one is also for the current challenge at Once Upon a Sketch - for which you have to incorporate a number into your page design.
Have a great day - and do check out both these challenges for yourself :)

Good on you! Nothing like challenging yourself, & you can tell S from me she has VERY good taste!!! It's almost got a grungey sorta spin, which i really like....& don't think we're not coming to NZ...you're still on my radar. It's just Mum has been up in QLD for longer than expected, so until she gets back, we don't have a dog sitter!!! Looks like Spring is about the time now..hopefully, all being well with Angie's treatment. Cancer. Of course:(:( [she's my step-sister]

I love the look! I also like fussy cutting and layers but I'm not sure how to do it myself.
