Caught in the Act - Again!

This is the first page that I have done 'just because' (and not for a design team) for a while and I really enjoyed making it! I based it on the 'Once Upon a Sketch' June criteria. The theme of the page is 'guilty secrets' and whilst I have a few of my own I couldn't go past this photo of Benji caught red-handed (for the 100th time) hiding under our lazy boy chair with my I-phone clutched in his hot little hands :) He is obsessed with a game called 'Rayman' and will take (or sneak) any opportunity to play it. I love the guilty look on his face in this photo as he realizes that he has been busted - again!

Here is the sketch that the page was inspired by:

I decided to really play along with the idea of a single, large photo by printing my shot out at 11 1/2 x 7 ". I really love to do this with special photos as it keeps the focus of the page squarely where it belongs - on the photograph, and it is also fun to scrap directly onto the photo itself as I did here with the title. My patterned paper are a mix of left-over scraps and borders from Studio Calico, American Craft and October Afternoon (my favourite manufacturers so I have lots and lots of off-cuts!!!) I used my new gelatos to mist the background and colour the punched out heart. I received a new pack of Studio Calico wood veneer chevrons this morning just in time to add the finishing touches to this page!
Here are a few close-ups so you can read the journaling easier and see how amazing the gelatos look mixed with water and splattered onto the background :).

Hope you are having a great week and thanks for visiting my blog :)
