Loving these moments

Last week I was lucky enough to get a package of the awesome 'Cut and Paste' line from My Mind's Eye. I couldn't wait to get stuck into it and when I saw that the MME blog were hosting a challenge to win MORE MME products I just had to have my name in the draw. Here is the page that I did based on this sketch:
Ronda Palazzari MME August Sketch

It aso fills the criteria for this month's 'Scrap the Girls' challenge which is a recipe. All entries must use:
  • flowers
  • masking
  • doodling and
  • chipboard or wood veneers
I masked and sprayed my background using my gelatos, then stamped the polka dot pattern again using gelatos in place of ink. All my papers, stickers and washi tapes are MME products. I handcut the yellow flowers frojm a sheet of MME patterned paper.

All my chipboard elements (except the Crate paper frame) are ofcourse 2Crafty products. I LOVE this lamp-post. It looks so cool painted with a combination of gelatos (the yellow light) and metallic paste (the  metal parts of the lamp. I outlined the detail on the lamp with a black distress marker pen.

My title is again a 2Crafty phrase. I can't stree enough how cool these chippie phrases are. There is one to match almost any page theme and they look amazing! I have painted mine with distress paint and sealed it with dimensional magic.
I doodled a border around my page and added three chipboard chevrons also painted black to balance out the 'heavy' title element and to form a visual triangle of chipboard (title, lamp-post, chevrons).

As for the photos. They were taken two days ago during a torrential rainstorm. Whenever my girls see heavy rain they want to go outside and play in it. This time I had my doubts as to whether it was a good idea as the temperature outside was a chilly 8 degrees centigrade. I finally gave in to their pleading and I have to say I'm glad that I did. They had so much fun together getting soaked and freezing cold, then sharing a hot shower and drinking a mug of hot chocolate (with marshmellows ofcourse) to warm up.
Thanks for stopping by today :)
