A hard lesson Learned

The challenge over at Once Upon a Sketch this month is to create a page with the theme of 'A lesson learned'. My poor little boy was running a little recklessly on the beach last week. He was warned to be careful on the big rocks but like all 4 year old boys he threw cautuion to the wind and slipped between two rocks. The result was a huge bump on his forehead, but luckily otherwise he was OK.
I combined the OUAS sketch:

with the CSI criteria for challenge 107:
and I came up with the layout above. I printed out the photo at 5x7" so that Benji's injury could be clearly seen. My papers are a mix of Studio Calico, MME and Kaisercraft.

Since yellow spray ink would not show up on the black background paper I created the splatters using diluted acrylic paint and an old toothbrush. From the CSI evidence list I used flowers, splashes, wet medium, mini brads and a fairly long title. I used the inspiration words cool, know and awesome in my journaling.

Thanks for stiopping by yet again. Hope you have time to visit both these challenge blogs and try out their awesome challenges - theres still plenty of time!

Ouchy that is a big egg on his forehead. Fabulous take on the sketch and I hope that lesson has been learned!

Your B is a bit of an actor, I reckon - he can put on the 'sad' face sooo well, & he really, really looks upset...but I'm sure you were a good Mum and took the photo AFTER fixing his head up!!!! And isn't it TYPICAL of boys??? I Saw this at CSI & LOOOOVED the bright colours against the black...then did the complete opposite when I had a go at it today!!! Go figure!!!!

oh shame! poor little boy! I can feel the pain in mother's heart from that bump on his forehead: I have been on a beach with rocks myself and had a bruised little boy of my own... :-(((
your page is stunning, Sarah! you really shared all the emotions so well here!
