Sweet

OMGosh I had so much fun doing this page! Thanks to this awesome mood board over at 'Scrap Around the World' 

And this fab sketch at Scrapfriends:

I was inspired by both the colours and the chevrons from the mood board. Since I knew that I was going to use brights to cover my chipboard hearts and for the paint 'drips' I sprayed the background chevrons with black spray ink and kept my papers black and white to offset the brightness. I was planning to use a black and white photo too but when I came across this one it seemed perfect for the page just as it is. 

When I had completed my background I thought that the chevrons looked a little flat so I added some colour  to the space between each chevron with my gelato pens. I seriously LOVE gelatos - I can't imagine how I scrapped before they joined my stash since I use them in some way on almost all my pages! 

I loved the row of hearts in the 'Scrapfriends' sketch and I wanted to re-create them with a variety of chipboard hearts - both from my stash and cut from my Silhouette Cameo. I 'painted' each piece with gelatos then outlined them with gel pens and inked the edges. The two fancy black hearts are 2Crafty products. I outlined them using a white gel pen to make them 'pop' even more from the colourful background. I fussy cut the black and white foliage and flowers from my 'Prima' papers and tucked it behind the hearts. I again chose the neutral colour of the flowers so that they would stand out from the other colourful elements.

I added a few pearls and a little bling to add a bit of sparkle to my page. 

I completed the page with some hand-journaling and a little doodling.
