Our Cute Pirate - CSI 147

Its sketch week at CSI. I love working with sketches and Emma Stafrace's sketches are among the very best! This one is no exception. Here is my page for the CSI design team.
I wasn't keen to cut up these photos into circles so I used other circular elements as embellishments.
I went with a dark background to make my photos really 'pop'. I find that white spray ink is often not opaque enough to give a good covering over a dark cardstock so for this page I used watered down acrylic paint in white and pale blue. When the paint had dried I randomly misted over it with dark blue spray ink, added some strips of washi tape and some of my favourite stamps. I really like the grungy, masculine effect that resulted.

I took the photos of Benji last week. He had persuaded me to buy him a pirate outfit from the local $2 store and played dress-ups with his sister all afternoon. He had so much fun out of this simple purchase - and looked so darned cute!

From the evidence list I used circles, stamps and something stacked. I used 365 questions as my journaling prompt. the question was 'How did you play today?' - perfect I thought!
Do join us for this challenge at CSI - there are some great prizes up for grabs and guest DT spots too!

I am SOOO with you....I HATE cutting photos into circles....so problematic! And the white paint instead of mist is a BRILL idea:) I really love these photos...he's such a cutie & they do stand out beautifully against the bg:):)
