I love the sketches at 'Sketchabilities' and this one is no exception. I have combined this challenge with the Feb challenge over at Anne Pennington's cool site 'Another freaking Scrappy Challenge' - Anything goes - yep thats right you can do anything at all this month - LOs, art journal, project 365 ... anything that takes your fancy!!!
My little boy turned 6 this week. He is the baby of he family so it is always a bittersweet occasion for me. I would like to keep him little for ever but since that is not possible the best I can do is to 'freeze' each stage and age in my photos.
This photo of Benji cuddling his bear 'Benji bear' (OK - not an original name I know) really pulled at my heart strings. I take a photo of him with the same bear every year on his birthday to record how he has grown - believe it or not he was once significantly smaller than the bear. I used texture paste and one of my favourite Studio Calico stencils to create the circle pattern on the background paper. Ithen used a variety of green inks to spray and colour the page - allowing them to dribble and blot ofcourse!!!
I loved the leaves on the sketch and I incorporated some paper leaves that I have had in my stash for ages into my design.
A 'thickers' title and some handwritten journaling completed the look - and voila we will always remember exactly how adorable our little man looked on his 6th birthday.
Have a great week and thanks for visiting my blog today!
