My Girl - Scrap Around the World May challenge

Here is the May challenge board from Scrap Around the World and my take on it. I was inspired by the girlie colours and beautiful pink roses on the board which reminded me right away of this paper from Kaisercraft's 'All that Glitters" collection. The black trouser pattern also lead to the black lace background of my layout.
The photo that I used was inspired by my good friend Lizzy Hill. It was one of her favs from the photos that I took on our recent trip to Europe. I love it too. My little daughter Sophie is all dressed up for dinner in Paris. She bought the hat from a street vendor at Sacre Coeur earlier that day and begged her big sister to loan her the coat (which matched to hat so well). She looks like a real little french girl. The porcelein doll (Mary Margaret) that never left her arms for the entire trip just added to the effect. Aren't little girls just adorable?

For this page I wanted a very girlie, romantic look. I stamped and inked my background papers then fussy cut and layered elements from various papers in the 'All that Glitters' collection. I painted the chipboard frame black - it reminded me of the black wrought iron railings that are such a feature of Paris.

I used a variety of tags, labels, string and a polaroid-style frame offcut to make the fun banner in the upper left corner of the page.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my page today. Do check out the Scrap Around the World blog and have a go yourself at this cool challenge. They have an amazing design team and there is a ton of inspiration to be had over there. Have a great week!

You are so lucky to have such a gorgeous little girl AND a bigger gorgeous girl. I am jealous. MUCH!!! But in a good way:):)
